Evaluation complete. eLearning vendors (those that design custom courseware) are often handed the course to be built. So far, none!

So Ive been storyboarding differently. Yesterday, after round four of a storyboard review process (which has stretched out for months, by the way, due to unavailable/overloaded client SMEs), the lead ID at my client came back asking for audio on EVERY page. Now, maybe Im just jaded and want to get to an approved storyboard.

The SMEs had to create the storyboards. Once the storyboard was created, the lead instructional designer reviewed it, fine-tuning things to create an "instructionally sound" experience. If I notice Im losing someones attention in class, Ill instantly make direct eye-contact, maybe raise an eyebrow, and start talking directly to that student, and most of the time. I dont do any online teaching at the moment, but I do a lot of online collaboration on projects -- reviewing content with SMEs, going over storyboards, etc.

Other benefits of working with two monitors: 1) Have a source document open on one screen and be writing a proposal/storyboard/script on the other. Back to the Google Desktop -- Im playing around a bit with the searching capabilities and am seeing the light. So the search feature -- I get that and Im sold. Very useful feature.

I have a lot of issues with the whole "seat time" model (and Im thinking about sit and click style eLearning here of the self-paced variety): My seat time may be different than yours Is there supplemental material, like reading, that is optional -- or that might vary per user? Another side of the picture is overall time versus chunking.
