Relies too much on Moodle architecture as in 80%. I’m not sure how much the Moodle platform is tied into this approach, but I would surmise it is a factor. Personally, I’m not a fan of the replication approach. The A/V is Clam (open source) but still solid. . Admin user interface is weak. Welcome Home.

Theres nothing in ADDIE about learning objects or the presentation of information. Most e-Learning vendors mention ADDIE or some form thereof on their websites as if it was a real science about creating effective learning. I think my dinosaur status as an instructional designer stems from the fact that Ive always worked for e-Learning vendors where the programming, graphics, and ID are distinct, separate job roles. E-Learning development houses need to be able to demonstrate a clear value in their services. Why should companies go with e-Learning vendors when rapid e-Learning tools are available? Have the e-Learning vendor create the first few custom programs. I completely agree with this.

How important is that customization important to your learning goals/objectives. Now, what if you do not want to walk away, but really want that customization option and your sales person really isn’t helping you out. Vendor Won’t Budge – But you really need that customization option! Open Source LMSs.

You can use either your own 3rd party content authoring tool and upload it into the “Cloud&# and then wherever you are, output either to your LMS, or onto Moodle or even WordPress (they have a plug in for that) OR place the course in Facebook or nearly any solution that accepts APIs.
