It was an exciting first day, with lots of vendors hitting the entire training spectrum. First day cool product of the show. SumTotal – Get ready for a new UI for the learning module. It is a mass improvement compared to their current learning UI. If you are looking for a soft skills learning game this is it.

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. SumTotal – Today? SumTotal called it SumTotal Maestro. Sure folks.

to the expo vendors who forgot to bring any type of product example to the show – this event will go down in history! Best booth – Gamelearn, very modern and hip – but no demos; so Mindmarker wins out – nice hip booth and mobile devices with their product on it to play around on. Products that rocked.

Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. There is no doubt that they are popular platforms – but as noted above – popularity doesn’t mean best. Am I missing something?

This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . In all the years I have attended and have known about ATD (formally ASTD), this year is by far the most in terms of e-learning vendors, especially those in the LMS space.

I mean besides making additional money, I would never want to have their name on the platform. As a former training director I had enough problems with users buzzing me about whatever, but having the name of the vendor too would not be good. E-commerce fee per year. Great educational learning management system.

In some cases it will be noted if it is based on a higher set of users, since there are platforms that prefer a minimum or focus on larger size businesses including associations, etc. E xpertus One ($$$-$$$$)- Still the best multi-tenant platform in the market. Each update takes the platform up on notch on its competitors.
