I admit that in general I have been underwhelmed in the past with Saba. So, when I went and checked out Saba Social, Saba’s new social learning platform, I had very low expectations. Over 25 different social media types and Saba Social sticks with the ones everyone always sees – WHY? I was surprised.

A Look Back at 2020 for E-Learning

Everything is awesome – which reminds me is that what Facebook is for? . From a vendor perspective there was a huge impact, but what was odd, is that some vendors still are living in the past, as though, this is a minor blip, and in 2021, everything will go back as it was – corporate wise that is.

Once a darling of vendors who used it to show their demos, now? In fact, in 2019, I did not see one demo from a vendor on Adobe Connect. Personally a vendor can call their system whatever they want, but there are a few factoids to remember about micro-learning. Cumbersome? Not so much. You tell me, is that a good thing?

2010 LMS Products of the Year

Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Normally, I wouldn’t provide a specific breakout, say Big Dog or Small Dog, but people ask me whom I like or dislike, etc. Saba does a good job as well. When a vendor I am reviewing or identifying is a client of mine, it will always be noted, as such.

LMSs – Finally vendors took notice. Authoring Tools – With only a small sample of vendors that are SaaS based, pickings are slim. Despite overall consumer demand (not just within e-learning) for tablets, and numbers showing that tablets are outselling notebooks, e-learning vendors as whole are sitting back and waiting.
