Hello, In both versions of Cap 2017 and 2019, I’m having an issue where I’ve got a small png file, 75 kb, that I’m using as the retry message fill when someone gets a quiz question wrong. .       I export my Illustrator graphics as  transparent high-resolution PNG files  for easy import into Microsoft PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline, or Adobe Captivate. To create the transparent PNG's, build the graphic on a separate artboard and note the artboard number.

Importing that PowerPoint background into my Captivate master slide applies the background to my title, content, quizzing, and all the other slides in the master slide series. Now, open Captivate. (I I like using the PowerPoint backgrounds in my Cp projects. I don’t need the PowerPoint master slides, just the background image.

They don’t have Captivate and don’t want us to replace images and republish multiple modules every time they want to resell the courses. The logos are on multiple master slides and are png files. XYZ is reselling the modules to other clients who would like to put their own logo on the course.

The Lack of Beveled Edges in Captivate: As of Captivate 2017.1 I recommend no shadows because it is harder to crop that out in the screen capture and Adobe Captivate has you covered with the ability to add shadows to buttons and shapes and Text Captions. Save as BMP or PNG. Use you screen snap tool to grab the button.

Think of a Fluid Box in Captivate 2017 as a logical container, used to layout objects and content across any range of devices. Similarly, if the parent has a black solid fill, whereas the child box has a transparent PNG image fill, then the combination of both is the final result on stage. Can Fluid Boxes have Fill?

If you want just a picture, use png. Have fun with Captivate . Find the yellow folder icon and press it. You know what to do now. Find the folder with the desired picture. If you want some background use jpg. So nothing surprising here. In my case, I went to my fat-cat folder and chose one of the cats as a future fill for my button.

I will take a screenshot of that slide while it is playing to save as a PNG (or other image format) and then hide the slide to avoid it to be included in output. When the image is ready, set up the Preferences, Project, Start and End: turn off AutoPlay and indicate the poster image. Play Arrow.

Since I have spent some time to work out that solution, I also discovered that it could be very useful in two situations that are often mentioned as failing in the normal Captivate design: To show the user an oveview of answers on a test with Knowledge Check slides : which anwsers were correct/incorrect? Instead of searching for these vectors online, I pulled them from PowerPoint, recolored them to match my color palette, saved them, and used the images as interactive shapes and buttons in Captivate. Using an image as a Captivate Smart Shape fill only supports.jpg,jpeg, gif,emf,wmf,png,pct, and.ico. This is how I did it.

But I do e-learning development and the tool I am using most often these days is Adobe Captivate. For example, I use PowerPoint to create transparent PNGs ( see my post from another blog ) that I can use in my Captivate projects. I still leverage PowerPoint whenever I can. A lot of learning content already exists in PowerPoint.

    PNG. I save my graphics as high-quality PNGs and allow transparency (a checkbox I choose in Adobe Illustrator when I export a graphic to PNG). I opened the image in Adobe Illustrator and set the  Export PNG  options to  High Quality  and set the Background Color to  Transparency.

They are undoubtedly a main element to elearning but do you know your png from your svg? cons – bigger than png, oldest format (1989). here’s a list of file types and what the differences and uses are. Pro’s – salable (without loss of quality) small file size, transparent. Cons- not I.E. friendly.
