They offer a SaaS version, but that is fee based. They have a freebie version which has an appropriate number of feature sets, then they have paid versions for individual and organization. The freebie does not offer SCORM nor monitoring, but has social learning, assessment tool inc. They are in no particular order.

They do offer a higher education version, but this is all about K-12. This has always been a personal fav of mine, and its primary version K-6 is fantastic. Example of Primary: Active directory, assessment tool, social learning features and SCORM are all bonuses. The K-12 version is a real screamer, and I say it in a good way.

Quicklessons – while they do offer a free version, the product most folks will buy they do not. In the first four days of the latest version (July 25, 2012) of MAC OS, Apple sold 3 million units. Even if they do support it, could luck finding out on many vendors’ web sites. Cobent CoAuthor.

Equally horrible, is that some companies are still using old versions of IE or an outdated computer system with Windows 2000 on it. There are enough vendors who are not going into the widget space, but are enabling the integration possibilities of APIs, which are really offers a powerhouse potential (a future emerging technology topic).

If you do not have or use IE, you can download a desktop version to build, sort of defeats the purpose of SaaS. As aforementioned the amount of fonts you can use is unbelievable, plus the ability to choose the various types of text colors is in alignment with many web site tools, and rarely seen in course authoring tools.

They plan on launching a version next year on smartphones. Here are a couple of reality points that most vendors fail to recognize: Most end users access off site their systems, unless they are hourly and their only option is to access via work. Thus you can have on-site training. They note that they have trained more than 70% of the Fortune 100, but I would surmise it is the on-site angle. Their salesperson told me that in order to view web sites, you can have to screen capture them ahead of time, and upload it into their product – i.e. you cannot visit in real time.
