I recommend this simulation to all those who either are handling a globally distributed team or a project, and to all managers who feel that effective communication is one of the keys to business success.

SAP partnered with an e-learning design company, Enspire Learning , located in Austin, Texas to craft six, hour-long modules tackling six major difficulties with distributed, or “virtual,” teams the training including a 20-minute capstone simulation for each of the six modules. Enspire and SAP recognized the significant design challenge of meaningfully discussing cultural differences while remaining sensitive to the cultures of learners world-wide.

I spoke with a bunch of folks from Enspire but got to see Robert Bell present with Randy Esterling (of ConAgra) who presented on the topic of “Managing Talent for Results”: a Serious Game for Business Managers that Really Works. The presentation focused on how Enspire and ConAgra Foods created a board game that models everyday challenges business managers face in implementing a talent management strategy.

Enspire Learning. Met some wonderful people and had a great time at the inaugural SPBT event The medical Device and Diagnostic Trainers Summit. The presentation was a great deal of fun. We played “Fact or Fishy” which resulted in a tie between team A and Team B.
