Because the company was using Windows 2000 (in 2012 no less) and the LMS vendor did not support Windows 2000.

The grades are in for Education focused LMSs

They do offer a higher education version, but this is all about K-12. This has always been a personal fav of mine, and its primary version K-6 is fantastic. Example of Primary: Active directory, assessment tool, social learning features and SCORM are all bonuses. The K-12 version is a real screamer, and I say it in a good way.
