One of the most significant issues holding back wide deployment of HTML5-compatible video was the disparity of support between browsers. Back in 2011 , we opined on the best approach to deliver video online which, at that time, was using Flash. Adobe’s RTMP protocol handled that well during the reign of Flash video. Huzzah! (?).

I have seen continued interest and downloads for open source AR tool kits. In the past year: Apple has filed a patent for 3D Kinect experience using touch free gesturing. Another Apple patent includes allowing users via touch free gesturing to move content from one device to another (example from your iPad to your television).

Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Flash output – still red hot. In the latest podcast featuring Volkner Zimmerman who is on the executive board at IMC-AG, he explicitly states that HTML5 is necessary in any course output for mobile. It isn’t.
