Articulate Rise Scenario Block Example

Experiencing eLearning

Articulate recently added a scenario block in Rise. For comparison, this Storyline branching scenario with 19 slides took me 9 hours to build. If you have tried the Articulate Rise scenario block, I’d love to hear about your experiences. This block is designed to create responsive branching scenarios quickly.

Articulate 360 (primarily Storyline). Most of the elearning content I build for clients is created in Articulate Storyline, part of the Articulate 360 suite. Articulate Review saves me tons of time collecting feedback from clients and stakeholders. I use these tools for creating learning experiences for others.

Time Estimates for E-Learning Development

Experiencing eLearning

The content itself is in pretty good shape; there’s slides, a participant guide, and a facilitator guide, and it’s all fairly complete. The phone layout and the motion path for sliding up the previous message was based on a text message template shared by Agnieszka Gorgon in the Articulate Heroes forum. I replaced all of the original content with text from the client feedback scenario I built as a Rise sample. Credit for the animation.

How Research Informs My Work

Experiencing eLearning

For example, grouping objects together on a slide helps learners perceive the objects as being related or connected. Every time I tweak a slide to make it more obvious what needs to be done, following UX principles, my work is informed by research. Visual design principles and UX principles are both relevant and supported by research.

Illume Proofing Format for Twine

Experiencing eLearning

Twine was great for writing and prototyping, but the final version needed to be built in Articulate Storyline. If you’ve ever built a branching scenario, especially a larger one like that, you know how hard it is to keep track of which slides have been built, and which ones still need to be developed.
