I use Affinity Photo as well, often switching between the two depending on which tools I need. Audacity is free, open source, and does everything I need for quick audio revisions.

open source software options: Audacity. Mixer–no open source ones out there, but Audacity does a lot. At the other end of the spectrum, you can use a headset mic and Audacity. Audacity has its own tutorials, including video. microphone–dynamic or condenser. Pop filter. PC/Mac/Linux.

Podcasts are fairly easy for anyone to make and with the free downloadable software, Audacity , it becomes an inexpensive option. Users can record and edit audio with Audacity and it runs on most operating systems, including Mac OS X and Windows. Dimdim has an open source version so developers can integrate it with other software.
