I looked up ANZ Bank on Twitter, but I couldn’t find it. So I googled “ANZ Twitter&# and stumbled upon Did ANZ open a new branch and forget to staff it? The article states: Last year ANZ established a dedicated Twitter account called @ANZ_Responds to communicate with customers. – not a good omen!

If you’re relying on their extraordinary Google and Amazon search skills to be “discovered”, you’re dreaming. I’m no marketing expert, but here are several tactics that I have found fruitful: • Tell all your followers on Facebook, Twitter and other forums. • Add a profile to Google Books.

Anything else you can access is invaluable – whether it be a copy of Der Spiegel , an episode of Inspector Rex , or a Twitter buddy in Berlin. I gave Google Translate a beating! While instructivism and formal learning are valuable, they comprise only one piece of the puzzle. Skills development. In doing so, you continue to learn.

I made the mistake of bouncing between Twitter, Google+ and Facebook in case I missed out on anything, but all that did was waste my time. If you’re super keen, you can always continue the conversation with your new-found friends after the mooc has ended. Pick a social media platform to support your progress.

The course was supported by social media groups across several platforms, including Twitter, Google+ and Facebook. After the novelty of the first couple of weeks wears off, real life competes hard for your attention. In all honesty, I think I would have dropped out if it were any longer.
