FLV, F4V, and SWF are flash video formats designed for Flash Player, but they’re commonly used to stream video on YouTube. As we discussed, there are several different types of video formats. What is the standard video format ? AVI (Audio Video Interleave) works with nearly every web browser on Windows, Mac, and Linux machines.

Sorry for my cynical attitude, had many discussions with authors over that type of articles. My first idea was to post this as a discussion, but in the past discussions didn’t have any success at all. Those are SWF-based but will be converted to MP4 when publishing to HTML5. Also, due to, HTML5 has become the de facto standard for delivering any project output, chances are there that our project may perform slower. The reason may be that there are many ‘Buts and if’ condition which is beyond the scope of this article to discuss. So be cool even if you are not getting desired results.

It is perfectly possible that not everyone will agree with my point of view and I would welcome all discussions. If you want to publish a project to be accessible from any device, you have to ignore the still available Captivate SWF output! A lot of text styles are needed, both for Standard and for Quizzing Objects.

The Adobe Flash format, once the primary standard for learning content, will no longer be supported after December 31st 2020. In an open letter from 2010 , Apple’s Steve Jobs identified several issues with Flash that meant the company would never feature native support for the standard. Flash was slow to support H.264

SCORM specifies that SCOs use an ECMA Standards compliant scripting language to communicate with the LMS.
