Im not sure if there was a specific tipping point for me, but I was certainly amused when one of my friends informed me that Im personally responsible for making her waste more time on Facebook than she ever thought possible. I think Im somewhat of an anomaly in the field. I can now also say that I use blogger and wikis. Maybe Im not an instructional designer at all. I have a knack for content editing and design and would love to do Instructional Design - any ideas on how or where to begin? I dont do any programming. I dont build courses.

Lots of practical ideas and examples for turning basic teaching points into learning games -- from casual games to teach facts and concepts, to detailed simulations that teach procedures and problem solving. Hit Us Hard 31% Hurt A Little 33% Not Much Effect 33% Helped Us 3% (Is "it hasnt hurt us yet, but Im nervous" an answer?) Level 4 Eval traditionally done during Learning Outcomes (there were a lot more things on his chart, but Im not that fast and it was somewhat complicated.) Im no Facebook super-user and I havent experienced a huge time suck from it, but I suppose its possible. Cammy, Im just a "lite" Facebook user, but I have seen profile pages that list their workplaces with commentary about how horrible their company is, or how much they hate their job. And Im in complete agreement.

This hasnt gotten onto my radar before -- Im not sure if there are any state-funded online programs in Massachusetts. Within higher ed, Im sure well continue to see growth in online, but it is starting to plateau a bit. I like the idea of online being an option for K-12 students, even if it isnt the right thing for everyone.

Im literally not a gamer. Im not sure how I got into games.but I think it had something to do with PONG. But Im so lost at sea for the most part in these environments. But Im no gamer. Im concerned that women will be excluded if such a focus is put on gaming skills -- or at least the gamer label. Dona was an early Atari employee (and the only woman at the time) and spoke about women in the gaming industry and provided some specific ideas for getting girls and women more involved in games and gaming. than Gamer 4.0.
