Another vendor calls their system nearly every keyword for SEO purposes (you can see it on their web site). They call it something else.

I’ve spoken with hundreds of vendor references over the past few years and I have found plenty of buyers who say they love their LMS — although I also find many more who are neither thrilled nor dissatisfied. Vendors saying “have you looked at XYZ” (which is their system). plus all the vendors will be found in FindAnLMS), I do have systems I can recommend based on various criteria. Yet, as I have often noted, it is rarely pushed upon in an RFP, let alone a demo. And I ask it often when talking to vendors.

In Visa’s case, they were in the process of implementing Pathgather as a new system, so they were able to require that Pathgather implement xAPI as part of the RFP. These two vendors are EdCast and Degreed. Getting back to being unaware, I find the same issue with a few vendors in the learning system space who are really LXPs, but have no idea. It reminded me of the vendors in the space who scream they are not an LMS, even though they hit all the standards of an LMS. . In my opinion, no.

It downloads fast for end users, offers a real nice set of features, works on tablets – and does it well and offers as options a toll free number as well as international numbers. LMS vendors had the option to create a video demo of their product without any sales pitch whatsoever. At last count, 25 vendors created such videos.

On a side note, some vendors call it “virtual classrooms” Do you want to track your learners? If the vendor uses Flash, they might not support older versions.
