In one of my recent Optimizing PowerPoint for eLearning & Presentations classes , I demonstrated how to adjust the saturation of an inserted image to take the image to grayscale. After the class, one of the students asked how to make this adjustment on clip art images. Because they are WMF files, you have the ability to Recolor the image, but not to fully adjust the saturation. PowerPoint may attempt to save the image as a WMF file by default. by AJ Walther.

I’ve tried publishing it using a zipped folder and uploading to the course content; this plays except the background 360 images are not displaying – just black with the hotspots hovering in mid blackness. When I go into the course content folder, I see a bunch of files and folders, but I see nothing that would resemble a 360 image/jpg. Is it possible it’s not publishing these images with the package? I used BullZip’s free PDF Printer ; if you do too, I recommend picking “Flate” for your image compression and “Prepress” for the output quality. Using Convert Images you can change properties, size, and even the file format of a group of images all at once. For example, you could take a group of images and add a one pixel border to each, make the images 200×200 pixels and change the file format from JPG to PNG. In just a couple of steps you can change all the images at the same time. Stick with the original file name or give your images an automatic file name.

He was in a bit of a panic because he had sent me a Photoshop file (PSD) instead of the.jpg image I had requested. He then remembered that I didn't have Photoshop on my computer and was wondering if he needed to head back to the office and send the jpg image instead. After opening the image, the Import dialog box opens.     The puzzle image, shown below, appeared on my slide without issue.

I don’t need the PowerPoint master slides, just the background image. Although Cp can edit your image to fit your slide, I prefer Photoshop’s precision and editing options. To size the background image, I created a 1024X627 landscape file (72 resolution) and placed my Droplet image. I had to make some adjustments, while maintaining the aspect ratio to get fit the image exactly into 1024X627. jpg slide you created in Step 5.

As eLearning developers we regularly work with images in our projects and while we aren’t all graphic designers, it helps to have a basic knowledge of the terminology around image properties and file types which is what this post is about. When sourcing images from a photo website I look for a high ppi or dpi number: In this example I’d choose the medium (or maybe the large) over the small as it would be a higher quality and better for resizing.

One way to obtain image files of a document is to take the PDF version and convert it with the aid of a handy conversion tool. The one I prefer is pdf2jpg.net , as it allows you to control image quality. In the site, select Choose a PDF file , bring in the.pdf version of your document, and then select Convert PDF to JPG.
