Adobe Captivate includes a text-to-speech function that allows seamless narration without having to do any recording. In Articulate Storyline 360, a new feature is introduced which is “Text-to-Speech”. Just need to add the audio text or the Closed Captions, and machine generated audio is ready. This feature is helpful in two ways: To keep the project cost low, machine generated audio can be used.

What was interesting is that the interviewer was produced using Text to Speech. For short bursts of text, the computer generated voice was okay. Based on the comments during the session, a few questions came up: Does Text to Speech work for longer form content? Captivate 4 contains built in Text to Speech.

Previously we looked at how to create free text-to-speech narration using a free application. The audio quality is decent enough for those who need the text-to-speech audio. Once you have an Amazon S3 account, you have access to Polly , a service where you can create free text-to-speech narration.
