This may be why the concept of informal learning is such a hard sell. As Janet wrote in the comments to her own post, attendees were saying of the un-conference format that "structure" and "objectives" were needed. But Im learning. Hi Cammy I went to my first unconference this year and really enjoyed that format.

Im not saying to leave the info a mystery; Im saying that Ive seen a lot of elearning that seems to underestimate the intelligence of the learner and makes every little thing painfully explicit. Im not sure what to make of it, honestly. To Christys point, I think its important to note the format of the study.

Here’s the salient bit: Moodle happily ingests those formats, acting to absorb content into what then becomes an inescapable pit of quicksand. Through our clients I can directly see the importance of SCORM and other standards for learning, especially as the scope and complexity of projects increase. It’s a one-way trip.
