If you've got a QR code on your mobile device, scan the code above and you'll end up on my web site at www.hyperword.com. Let any users jump to your web site from a PDF or print manual by scanning a QR code that you add to a manual. I use one called QR Reader for my iPhone and Android phone.

The software, written by a team headed by Qui Pan, a student at the Department of Engineering at Cambridge University in England, turns a regular, cheap webcam into a 3D scanner.ProFORMA lets you rotate any object in front of the camera and it scans it in real time, building a fully 3D texture mapped model as fast as you can turn an object.

Using my iPad and iPhone for work and at home has allowed me to do just that. Air Display is an inexpensive app that turns your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch into a wireless secondary display that works while on the same network as the main device. With a camera phone and a Sprint data plan, text "scan" to 70734 and download the free application. Of course I'm an iPhone guy, and this is the first time that I'm mildly unhappy about that. Does anyone out there have a Sprint camera phone.

Of course I've tried it on my iPhone, but I can't wait to hear about what it looks like on other devices. Basically its a great way to connect the physical world with the digital world via your cell phone(camera and software equipped). The software scans the code and takes an action based on the code. Please let me know.

I'm sitting here writing this stupid blog post wishing I would have just drawn some pictures, scanned them, and posted those instead.
