Elgg provides a private integrated suite of social media tools—within a seamless environment for individuals to use for their own personal learning and for groups to use for formal or informal learning purposes. I do talk about social and collaborative platforms, social learning environments or networks or communities.

They like options and choice in their learning environment. Even adults who feel anxiety from self-direction may learn to appreciate this approach if given proper initial support. They prefer to partake in learning activities that help them reach their goals. Learning by experience. Goal-oriented.

It’s not as exciting as a 3D virtual learning environment, but it might be just as important. Personally, I like to use 4 options. This is a back-to-basics article about the undervalued and little-discussed multiple choice question. Research doesn’t seem to agree on whether 3 or 4 or 5 options is best. It feels fair.

I’ve been caught in an immersive 3D Learning Environment! I guess the book, Learning in 3D, has kind of rewired my brain. According to the authors, Karl Kapp and Tony Driscoll, it’s just a matter of time until virtual immersive environments are commonly accepted as the learning mode of choice.
