Lots of vendor booths. One vendor told me it was 296, another said, 260. I did see one vendor who bought a booth and never showed up (G-Cube). Vendors who were in certain sections (I counted Seven sections), seemed to have more humans than say others. Regardless, there were a lot.

On the expo side, and I know ASTD Events are going to disagree with me (err, they already have via Linkedin), I wasn’t overly impressed on the number of vendors’ booths. Conferencing vendors – Were there any? Wi-Fi for booth vendors was horrible.

While I am sure that occurred at WOLC, the ones I gazed at, which were presented by vendors, had no sales pitch whatsoever, rather it was all about a specific subject tied to e-learning. I know a few vendors who had multiple meetings each day with potential clients – and the ones I am referring to where LMS vendors.

If you are creating a product geared towards ID and e-learning developers it should not be as easy as using PowerPoint. Use a built-in AT product in a LMS and rarely do you find hotspot. Some AT vendors have removed it as well. Under the LMS section is where you can find the reporting and tracking. They make tweaks.

But one of the biggest problems I see at such shows are the number of vendors who in hindsight I wished I avoided.
