I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. A major, major improvement from previous versions, but I digress. I saw a lot more folks than in previous shows and more e-learning vendors too. Equally there were several ILT vendors who had some type of online learning thing going on. Still there are plenty of hold outs on the ILT side, especially those creating “leaders” or developing coaches.

Equally horrible, is that some companies are still using old versions of IE or an outdated computer system with Windows 2000 on it. Wizards is the new trend, enabling admins regardless of tech skill to create and make changes quickly. Some of these vendors are only targeting this market and not anything higher. They won’t.

Kinect technology was not created at a Microsoft lab, rather it was created by a group of folks in Cambridge, England. They plan on launching a version next year on smartphones. If you provide greater control to your end users, and after all, it is a social learning collaborative platform, this overload can happen faster then you think. Compatibility with older versions of Microsoft Office, if doesn’t really exist, so unless you have say 2007, you may face some challenges. How about creating a filter?
