There was usually so much information on the slides that it was nearly impossible to retain anything.  And I’ve seen courses that included voiceover narration but little (or no) text on the screen… just some very dated clipart. Should there be voiceover audio combined with text and images?

In Word 2003, that function is found under Tools > Options > User Information. Some of his reviewers were working in Word 2003. Was it possible that changing the screen colors for tracked changes to something other than "By Author" had somehow erased the identifying information?

As the voiceover or screen text states each part, the learner does each step in turn, first clicking the menu, then pointing to Toolbars, then selecting Formatting. If you used Method A in that context, the student would sit waiting while the voiceover said "Formatting.toolbars."
