Numbers will continue and I see a real jump in percentile of these types of systems. They are similar to what you see in your standard LMS, course content, learning paths, reporting – but it is not as robust (which is fine for some end users). Sub-portal/child – can be given a lot of capabilities or limited – depending on what the parent/main portal setups for them. Thus, your channel partner buys the LMS – ie. Some systems call themselves EE because they sell to the retail industry or have clients who have channel partners. Who Are They?

Even if the product is a desktop product all you need to do is upload the course to your own web server, use the vendor’s web server or via a LMS. Yet as in the HTML5 case, online/offline synch is not able for the vast majority of learning platforms – especially in the LMS space. Again it is not.

They fail to even clearly show their product, let alone present the product sans the standard PPT intro that comes with “learn more” about the solution. You can try to figure out about the product via the company’s web site, but many sites honestly are beyond awful. Talk, Talk (and no, not the band ).

A trend that is happening in the LMS market more so than in the other e-learning markets, is the failure to follow their path of success. In 2009 and 2010, many vendors in the LMS market, tossed in items that at one time were extra fees. The spin of course, is that open source systems enable APIs.
