Benefit: Reduces calls to administrator and training/learning person who oversees the system and department. Reduces costs to vendor, which is big because everyone knows that support inc. While many vendors pitch mobile learning they seem to be stuck on the idea that people are not interested in online/offline synchronization.

What always stuns me are vendors who state they know what their learners want, but in reality have no clue, because they themselves do not see the technology and its usage among the masses. The growing number of businesses leaving Microsoft Outlook to Internet e-mail is amazing. Social learning takes on a whole new meaning.

Combination of synchronous and asynchronous features. Most systems in the education space are still strongly focused on synchronous based learning. SaaS – I would prefer a vendor who offers SaaS only and not a SaaS or client hosted or G-D forbid client hosted only option. Blackboard Learn. Frog Trade.

From products that ranged from the latest versions of RCATs to new vendors in the space, including text to speech. . While templates in the authoring tool market is not new – they have been around for many years – the number of vendors launching templates as part of the product is staggering. . I was enthralled.

This version ($40/u/m) is geared towards the instructional designer/developer. SaaS product – but here’s the thing – if you want the course to be in your LMS – it can but it still sits on the ZZ server side and not in your system (should note that the LMS connectivity is available only in the $40/u version).
