Working from home offers me plenty of solitude but not the intellectual stimulation and those over-the-shoulder conversations so crucial to serendipity, ambient awareness, and informal learning. If anyone reading this is a knowledge worker and is thinking about working from home, read Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's Flow.

It has helped me to develop my personal learning network (PLN) and enabled my PKM. The 9:00 am to 5:00 pm notion of work is all but vanishing, at least for the knowledge workers. It is one of the ways to save us those precious hours while also building our network and meta-learning skills for the digital world.

To me if you make the definition of "e-learning" so expansive (and yes, I realize there is overlap between e-learning and knowledge management but to classify knowledge management activities as learning seem silly) it makes the term almost meaningless. Is that why this is a big deal?
