Now Im not saying that SMEs are rats, or instructional designers are rats. Back to Instructional Design as a Spectrum. Even a rat. Great post!

My current business card says Im a "Manager of Instructional Design". I had expertise. And now Im here -- "Manager of Instructional Design." But at this point, Im here to stay. This is my expertise, even without the fancy letters after my name. My point is this: I dont think Im that unusual. I was an SME.

The very active area here was the cerebellum, which apparently has a big role in "motor learning and expertise". Im no neuroscientist, but these kinds of images get me excited -- seeing which areas of the brain light up.

As Im ramping up in my new job, Im talking with my new Kineo colleagues about everything under the sun. Is there some historical background here that Im missing, like computers in the UK didnt have speakers until 2002 so they never bothered? We know to avoid narrating text word for word, for instance.
