You can use either your own 3rd party content authoring tool and upload it into the “Cloud and then wherever you are, output either to your LMS, or onto Moodle or even WordPress (they have a plug in for that) OR place the course in Facebook or nearly any solution that accepts APIs. Social/Collaborative – Offering tools that mimic social media/network software will be one obvious theme. I envisage two primarily that would add value; the first would be an ontology search/verify/suggest tool.

I bet that is the first time you have seen a mashup between music from Hair (great musical, bad movie) and a holiday tune. Prediction #1 => Hacking Work At this time last year, I did my series Tool Set 2009. I actually think this is some of the most valuable stuff on my blog, and I believe that most knowledge workers are not really taking advantage of this at the level they should. If they were doing it, Facebook like page, a crummy blog that looks nothing like a real blog, a Twitter like feed, maybe RSS, text chat and YouTube functions and upload/download angle. A couple of rapid content authoring tool vendors are incorporating HTML5 features in their tool, which can be used on tablets, and of course the iPad.

and Edupunk movements - the do it yourself culture in which costly proprietary systems and tools are spurned in favour of haphazard, unbranded, informal mashups and loose aggregations of tools. There are a huge array of social web tools to choose from and many of them are free at the point of delivery.

The recent article by Dion Hinchcliffe - Blogs, wikis, and Web 2.0 I've seen the Content Authoring Research Report from the eLearningGuild that suggests what tools are being used in 2005 and it suggests that most content is being authored using fairly traditional tools such as Flash, PowerPoint, Dreamweaver, Captivate, Lectora.

The Swipe Rule – Vendors need to swipe your card to follow up with you; which is fine; but I cannot tell you the number of times when I was a Director of Training and told the vendor in the face to call me or email me, and never heard from them. Two years ago there were some folks who believed that mobile learning where tools, etc. As noted in an earlier blog posting, that would be saying your car has air conditioning because you can roll down the windows as you drive. It shows up in your browser. Mobile Learning. I can do the same thing, without using your app.

Even not having the card prior to arrival, but signing up online, gets you free internet. . Each item in the list must be completed and in many cases numerous times – this builds up retention. Anyway, video courses both by consumers (clients of LMS vendors) and 3rd party content providers are showing up more and more.

You might want to check out Bernice McCarthys 4MAT work at [link] She uses a sort of mashup between left/right brain thinking and Kolbs learning styles and creates a cyclical approach to teaching that attempts to present things to impact all learners. Her work is primarily for elementary ed, but has applicability in our corporate worlds too.

The great part was that, having heard of my plight, some friends descended upon my ride and tarted it up with glitter and dangly things. As she describes it, a mashup of presentations and improv comedy. I attended the one on the Future of ID, and the comments were insightful about how the tools and goals were changing.
