I have been going to trade shows in various verticals for the past 21 years, and this was by far the worst (LTUK) when it came to location of the vendors and finding your way to the vendors, the exits and wait for it, the loo (restroom). . There were VR vendors too – pitching customized VR content. Bottom Line.

1%, the pr you see, seems to indicate a massive upheaval in the M&A angle, especially in the learning system space. . Yet one of the items that is never mentioned are the customers and employees of the vendor who has been acquired. From my experience, vendors do have some options. See if there any loopholes.

In the early 2000’s right up to about 2012, trials were common in the learning system market. Not every vendor offered them, but more than enough did and consumers liked that. More people flooded into the market looking for a learning system, without knowledge about the space, and thus unaware of that occured in the past.

What has always amazed me are number of e-learning vendor web sites whose design looks like it came from 1995 when Netscape ruled the land. Web site stinks = product stinks.

These two vendors are EdCast and Degreed. Getting back to being unaware, I find the same issue with a few vendors in the learning system space who are really LXPs, but have no idea. It reminded me of the vendors in the space who scream they are not an LMS, even though they hit all the standards of an LMS. .

You work online via the servers of your vendor. I had thought that this trend would be dying out, but it is amazing at the number of vendors who are entering the space and still focused on the desktop approach. Vendors who are already in the SaaS only space, should continue to offer features that maximize its power.
