Based on the second criterion, the TTS vendors work with the following two general usage categories: Personal Use - reading books, making sound files for personal use, etc. Audio Distribution – a sound file that was created with the voice is distributed and played to an audience.

In previous conferences you could pick up the sound of people who where proclaiming that Scorm is that or at least would die. And I was really surprised by the pace ADL is moving forward with this. It is strange indeed to have a standard in this fast developing world with the name Scorm 2004.

Sign #3: ADL itself heavily supports Tin Can as the successor of SCORM.[4]. SCORM 2004 had to change in order to adapt to such a dramatically different environment and rather than do that ADL decided to save itself the trouble and start from scratch through what we now know as Tin Can or Experience API (xAPI). On not being pragmatic.

Originally developed by Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL), an initiative of the Unite States Department of Defense, SCORM was designed to standardize and modernize their training courses. So it sounds like Tin Can is the way to go…. As I have said, what you choose should be based on your own requirements.

Likely this sounds familiar to many of you. Here are some ideas - SCORM Test Suite One of the best things about SCORM (ADL's Sharable Content Reference Model) is that it is pretty easy to test and diagnose problems. The client has not set up a version of the LMS just for this purpose. The question is what to do about it.
