One Learning System vendor told me they hired a consultant to provide them with a recommendation for the LLM they should use. Every vendor I have spoken with who has added an LLM (the foundation you need for Gen-AI) has gone with OpenAI or Azure AI, which is Open AI. Thought Industries is one such vendor.

Why, would a system that pushes heavily around the customer education/partner training segment, acquire a vendor who does the complete opposite? If Valamis wanted to push heavy and truly commit to the CE segment, they would have acquired a vendor who has capabilities or features or even themselves plays in the CE side.

1,000 is the magic number for a lot of vendors. There are vendors that unless you have a minimum of 1,000 end-users (regardless if they are employees, customers, etc.) I know of vendors who will go below 1,000, but their “sweet spot”, the number they really would prefer is a minimum of 1,000. Is 500 to 999 an option?

I often mention leasing a car when talking about a learning system. When you “buy” a learning system, you are actually leasing it. Sure, there are some vendors who will sell you the system outright, but then you either pay extra for the updates or you just have a system that never gets updated.
