LMSs that kick ass: GeoLearning

Of all commercial LMSs, I probably have the most hands-on experience with GeoLearning ’s various products and services having managed an enterprise implementation several years ago. It was a multi-phase implementation (LMS, LCMS, Talent Management) that went off pretty smooth and the team at GeoLearning was great to work with.

The LMS – Let’s Set The Record Straight

The most that are out there (I base this on my template, which has more than 100 skill capabilities) is Cornerstone. Cornerstone, BTW is around 90%. Higher than Degreed, the original LXP. Higher than EdCast. Higher than even Pluralsight, which is, uh, a learning platform. Docebo, an LMS, scores around 62%. Both are LMSs.

The Augmented LMS: New Life for Talent Management Learning?

Old-school LMS companies (like SumTotal , Plateau , Learn.com , GeoLearning and Certpoint ) were acquired by much larger talent and HR-suite providers like SAP/SuccessFactors , Infor , Oracle and IBM. Other well-known independent players like Cornerstone , Saba and Workday opted to compete by building their own talent suites.

Cornerstone. GeoLearning. Several LMS companies offer user groups and conferences, and I would highly recommend that you check one out if you work closely with an LMS. Most of the well-known LMS vendors have user group meetings and/or conferences, including: Blackboard. Technology / Development-focused user groups.
