Many vendors stated as such to me. I was surprised at the number of vendors who had no idea on what is Tin Can. I was equally surprised that a couple of vendors did not see the value in online/offline synch nor where aware that end users wanted this feature. The cost is $325 per license, but a minimum of 25 licenses.

Costs and quality will vary. For vendors creating standalone apps for the masses on a variety of offerings or new product lines, costs will need to be significantly lower, otherwise it will not be successful. Costs will vary, again lower price points are needed. who do not have the inside staff to build such an app.

I am projecting that by the end of 2012, you will see HRIS features come into play, but more so as an additional cost module. What I am seeing is an increase in learning system vendors exploring online/offline synch with the iPad/iPad2 (and yes, Android OS). Why more features on the side of HR?

Mobile learning – it might surprise you to know that 75-80% of all systems in the space, currently do not offer any type of mobile learning, the number goes up even higher for online/offline synch. Congrats, you are probably looking at less than 10 (based on my LMS directory which contains 475 vendors).

The way to solve this issue for m-learning tools, systems, etc., But what about cost? I am confident that a vendor who sees value in terms of mobile learning (and thus that do – see that), can afford $500, even a $2,000 for an app. Enable offline/online synch – (exception web conferencing products).

Self contained app on a tablet or I hate to say it – smartphones – bottom line everything can be done within the app, no need to click the app and go to the vendor’s online tool – after all, if that is the capability today, why would I even want the app, since I can just click my browser?
