Toward the end of the post, I’ll provide a few SaaS authoring tools anyone can use. It’s been around since 2000, by the way; nothing new.

Right now I am doing a survey on authoring tools (more on this at the end of the post) and so far 100% of all respondents state that HTML5 output is required in an authoring tool. 1,000 is the magic number for a lot of vendors. There are vendors that unless you have a minimum of 1,000 end-users (regardless if they are employees, customers, etc.) I know of vendors who will go below 1,000, but their “sweet spot”, the number they really would prefer is a minimum of 1,000. Is 500 to 999 an option?

This has always been a challenge with various vendors, especially today, where turnkey (out of the box) is the standard, a few tweaks included, and thus implementation times are very short (a plus). From products that ranged from the latest versions of RCATs to new vendors in the space, including text to speech. . I’ve heard it from vendors. Many consumers, I surmise are doing it already without even realizing it, and even some vendors are too. Preferably on/off synch, but as I mentioned in my LinkedIn mini-post, most learning system vendors still are not on/off synch with said mobile app. An app is often listed as a mobile app.

It was clear that not even LXP vendors (as a whole) knew – which explained why they targeted L&D, ignoring the other monster in the room, training. On top of all that, the LXP vendors (as a whole) pushed a false pretense that the LXP was vastly different than say an LMS. One of my favorite early vendors was GeoLearning.

The advantage is that even though the pilot start at two kocations, eventually there 2000 to 2500 people can participate.
