My Professional Learner’s Toolkit

Favorite browser and search engine : I use Safari and Google, by default. I would prefer another search engine, probably DuckDuckGo, but I’m not facile with it, for instance finding images. A range of social networks : I use LinkedIn professionally, as well as Slack. Facebook is largely personal.

Top 10 tools for Learning 2023

His categories of seek (search and feed), sense (interpret) and share (closely or broadly) seems like an interesting and relevant way to organize my tools. I’ve been using DuckDuckGo as a search engine instead of more famous ones, as I like the privacy policies better. Sense I still use Graffle as a diagramming tool (Mac only).

While this is Apple only, and dear, it so far is the best tool I’ve found to make diagrams. Again, Apple only, dear, and overkill, but their cheaper version doesn’t include columns, and that can be helpful! yes, I’m an Apple person, what can I say?). Then, of course, there’s searching for answers.

Very Impressed with the work TechSmith (i.e. Camtasia) is doing on iPad

Since my focus is on vendors who develop eLearning tools, almost every day I’m going to the Apple App store on my iPad looking for apps from these companies. I personally would have preferred Twitter over Facebook as the easy way to share screencasts, but that’s just me. Think Camtasia or Captivate but right on the iPad.

I check in on LinkedIn, largely through the folks I follow. To capture thoughts, I use dictation in Apple’s Notes. For instance, I’m now using Apple’s Reminders to track ‘todos’, along with its Calendar. (I’m What I do, regularly, are two major things which I think are key. I read (a lot).
