Keeping Up - April's Big Question

eLearning Cyclops

April's Big Question from Learning Circuits is "How to Keep up?" This is in reference the immense and rapidly expanding technology tools. However, being involved in an e-learning community is a big help. I also like to make occasional visits to Google Labs and Adobe Labs to "keep up" with the tech tools they are working on and to test drive any beta versions available. It is tough to stay on top of all the emerging tools.

Some refer to it as the Articulate Presenter Community Player while others refer to it as a Skin. Of the thousands of on-line tutorials I’ve read in my day, I always find myself wandering off in search of a term or an explanation to a topic the author referred to in the tutorial. The ActionScript for the player is written in version 2.0 so any version of Flash back to MX 2004 (v.8) if not already), the version of the Flash player (output), and the frame rate.

Future of Learning Technology – 2015

Upside Learning

The Learning Circuits Big Question this month asks – “ What will the workplace learning technology look like in 2015 ”. The question is inspired from a post by Derek Morrsion – Technology to Enhance Learning in 2015 , quite an interesting post, a must read. Even though the iPad disappoints in its current version, I are sure this will change with future versions of iPad itself and various other tablets.

But when asked what the ‘next generation’ of the LMS might actually be, Rosso didn’t even accept the question. I guess I have a big question around, is there a future for the LMS? I almost want to rephrase the question: what’s the next generation of learning technology ?”. Fortunately, the answers to those questions are coming into focus—and pointing the way forward. Often, though, they’re referring to slick design and other product features.

Keep in mind it did not reference much regarding social media.

Mindflash

In today’s faster, cheaper, better world the fact that 75% of learning takes place without a structured training intervention is a big glowing dollar sign to business leaders trying to pinch pennies. But for training this new willingness to embrace informal learning raises a big question – how does the training team fit into the picture when trainees are learning more from each other than they are from you?
