Product Review: Saba Social

eLearning 24-7

I admit that in general I have been underwhelmed in the past with Saba. So, when I went and checked out Saba Social, Saba’s new social learning platform, I had very low expectations. Upon entering Saba Social you are presented with an visually solid home screen.

Q&A from Blog Readers on E-Learning

eLearning 24-7

Especially when it comes in the form of questions from readers of the blog and various followers on my social media channels. Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. Saba - A solid system, but IMO (in my opinion) better suited for talent/performance management. There is nothing like interaction.

Special Post – Why the Big Four are not on my latest Top 10 LMS List

eLearning 24-7

Since my Top 10 list of LMS vendors has been posted online, I have received quite a bit of e-mail wondering why the biggest names: Cornerstone On Demand, Saba, SumTotal and SuccessFactors are not on the list. SuccessFactors UI itself is slick and it offers a very nice extended enterprise (which is noted in my last blog post), but if I was to post a list of top ten LMS vendors they would not be there – reason? I have some real concerns on what is taking place with Saba today.

Product Vendor Blogs - Where are They?

Tony Karrer

One thing that just dawned on me is how few product vendor blogs there are in eLearning. Where's a blog from Saba, SumTotal? Another thought just occurred to me based on my last post Innovation Geography Based and Innovation in eLearning. Ben Werdmuller posted his comments on this Does location matter for web startups? and asked about innovation in eLearning, especially innovation that leads to products.

The LMS Debate rides again

Clark Quinn

Well, Saba called me out in an semi-anonymous (there’s a picture, but I don’t know who of, and there’s no name – in social media?) blog post on the LMS debate (a bit late to join the fray, no?). I was surprised they way they referred to me, but there you go(ng). I made a comment which is awaiting moderation, but I’ll give it to you here in the interim: I don’t know who to thank for this post, but glad to see it.

Can PeopleCloud support learning in all its contexts?

Clive on Learning

The first I want to examine is Saba's new PeopleCloud. My challenge is to see whether it can make a difference across all four learning contexts: Formal Formal learning occurs through courses As you would expect from one of the world's major LMS providers, Saba PeopleCloud does provide extensive support for formal learning. While not currently a feature, Saba will be integrating workforce planning into PeopleCloud, which should help to support job rotation and enrichment.
