If you want to buy a learning system that is noted as “Enterprise” and you are providing your learning – i.e. training for your customers, you can still buy the system. only, and all your stuff is in AICC. No one, will say no (or should). Ditto when you buy a system that is SCORM 1.2 You want, batch upload.

One of the most interesting items which presents to me an unknown variable is CMI-5, a compliance standard (formally with AICC) now headed up by ADL. The options that exist from a user side is via your own user name and password or via a webhook (allows the app (API) to provide other apps/applications with real time information and data).

There are few and I mean only a few who follow this pattern (example: Skillsoft), where the course library is the primary and the system secondary. If I was to compare the Big Dog Four – SuccessFactors, Saba, Cornerstone OnDemand and SumTotal by Skillsoft, Saba would win hands down. SumTotal by Skillsoft.

In 2005, PENS was launched by AICC but did not initially gain wide acceptance. Can you provide some insight into PENS? PENS (Package Exchange Notification System) is a wonderful standard that provides a method for authoring tools to directly send course packages (primarily SCORM) to an LMS.
