I attended the panel discussion on 'the future of rapid e-learning tools' at the eLearning Guild's Annual Gathering in Boston today with a misunderstanding. thought I knew what 'rapid e-learning' meant. After all, LTI Magazine defined raid e-learning as "courseware (live or self-paced) developed in less than three weeks, where SMEs act as the primary development resource". I came across this mind map by Cammy Bean which covers nearly all the tools available for creating/authoring eLearning content. She tries to find answers to three simple questions regarding each tools mentioned in the mind map –. For many tools, the answers are as expected. Again, the fact surfaces that not all tools are perfect but each tends to be targeted for specific use cases. I'm enjoying Tom Kuhlman's new Rapid e-Learning Blog. Considering it's a sort-of-corporate-blog for Articulate, it's really well done - nicely presented, written with great enthusiasm and comes with a really useful free gift, The Insider's Guide to Becoming a Rapid e-Learning Pro. Tom makes quite clear his audience is 'e-learning professionals', a focus which continues to puzzle me.
