There are even fans today of Authorware, who if it was still around, would bounce right into it. Other course authoring tools started to appear right after Authorware.

As you can see, there were quite a few different storyboard templates shared for downloads. A lot of this changed when we shifted from custom development in Flash and Authorware to Articulate Studio and PowerPoint.

Acquistions – Someone had an idea

Someone came up with the idea to create templates for developing courses quickly – and no, it wasn’t someone from Adobe or Articulate. I was using DazzlerMax and Authorware, which are superior offerings for creating courses. The person who saw the template potentially hit it out of the park. At the time, I hated it.

PowerPoint is not E-Learning and shouldn’t be used as your course tool/development – For whatever reason, there are people who have been around online learning for years, who still see PPT as a means for the creation of content – i.e. courses. Do they have anything in common with one another? It’s me. Who knows.

Yes, you have the familiar PowerPoint interface but all the interactive elements are completely separate and never quite integrate as you'd like. You can import from PowerPoint or Articulate Studio tools if you need to.
