Course standards include xAPI and PENS, besides the standards of SCORM. . No, but then again, this is an issue with many course providers including Lynda.com and Skillsoft. . As noted earlier, I see this with a lot course providers (and aggregators) including Lynda.com, Skillsoft and even the MOOC freebies via Coursera (for example).

The system supports every course standard including xAPI and PENS, but misses out on an LRS and content marketplace. It has always been important, but this year had an extra weight to it.

Standard adoption takes time (as we can see with xAPI), so if you are concerned or worried about having to go with CMI-5, etc. I as many folks constantly referred to xAPI as Tin Can, but recently say in the past month, I found out that Tin Can was a trademarked name by Rustici Software. On each Vendor listing – as you see in the above catalog example, if the vendor is in my Top 50 rankings for 2019, they will have an icon identifying them, Purple – Top 50, Dark Blue – Top 20, Green – Top 10. . Includes a bundle of Skillsoft content, when you buy – a nice touch. or xAPI. .

Don’t get caught up in “examples” you see online as these rarely tell you what you and your team can realistically do with any given software and in many cases you could do better or sometimes you don’t have the resources to do quite that. I think xAPI has managed to do that, but I don’t see SCORM disappearing anytime soon.
