That’s what the LMS vendors want you to believe ;)! Powerpoint presentations in Second Life, but ideally is avoided. A colleague mentioned how her org realized that it couldn’t create a course without also creating manager training, otherwise they’d undermine the outcomes instead of reinforcing them.

There are already a couple of vendors, in the works with it, and at least one, Firmwater, who says they have added it to their learning system (I have been promised a demo). Thus vendors, will need to add it, regardless of whether they the vendor has hired generative engineers/developers or went third party. Those were the days.

First, it looks as though Linden Labs, the developers behind Second Life, may be downsizing their corporate efforts ( Second Life Enterprise Edition ). Another 3D vendor doing well is VirtualU. Second Life has gone back to its consumer roots while simultaneously raising educational prices. Seriously considering dropping Second Life from our curriculum. Well done in 2011. ProtoSphere continues to be a force in the 3D collaboration and learning space.
