The same is true with this type of personalization for learning management systems. Livecasting or Livestreaming – it could be done by end users uploading videos or media files and then stream them in real time, to everyone or just their specific learner group. E-Learning 24/7. Taking it to the next level. Just a few options, by no means the entire kitchen sink. Isn’t a free marketplace, great?

For them, it is the best way to go – because as noted above – it is a guaranteed revenue stream. The system will remain as is – we will never change. Support/Service will not change. From my experience this is rarely 100% accurate, because everything changes, whether you want it or not. It isn’t.

The note of interest is that it is occurring with all size of vendors, albeit the charge is being led by mid size vendors. Not all of the big dog vendors have entered this space, despite it being a huge revenue opportunity. That is expected to change. While some vendors offer over 100 canned reports, may do not.

When I worked at Bank of America Corporate, I reviewed contracts of our various Business Units who were having e-learning vendors build their courses.

While templates in the authoring tool market is not new – they have been around for many years – the number of vendors launching templates as part of the product is staggering. . I believe that is going to change. Simply put, one vendor has over 200 Flash-based templates in their product. Plus, it can be choppy.

Custom domains – rather than have yourcompany.vendorname.com, some systems are now offering custom domains so that your learners see whatever name you create.com and remove the vendor name. It used to be that every WC vendor went this route, but then some vendors saw a greater benefit with licenses, either for simplicity sakes or additional revenue stream. Compared to other e-learning industries, WC is not as stable. Acquisition occurs as well as the WC changing markets and options.

The reason Cornerstone suffered losses in 2010, was largely caused by a change in fair value of preferred stock warrant liabilities.
