About a week or so ago I wrote about the three camps I see in the social sphere. Three camps in the social spectrum. Camp B - social media purists ("it's all about free content, relationships and trust.").  And of course, to do it while keeping true to the trust-based culture and philosophy of the social web.

One of the big questions is who will dominate location-based social networks.
The article, " Social Networking and Corporate Learning " is a quick read and could serve as a jumping-off point/research source for you if you're preparing a presentation in the future about, say, the impact of social networks in the corporate learning environment. I hinted yesterday in my twitter and facebook feeds that I was working on a conference submission. Below is approximately what I sent. Also to gain feedback from other experienced eLearning specialists and higher education institutions who are also going down this path. Introduction to Social Networking. Online social networks facilitate connections between people based on shared interests, values, membership in particular groups (i.e., They make it easier for people to find and communicate with individuals who are in their networks using the Web as the interface.
The same applies of course to any other social networking tool, but unlike Facebook for example, Twitter contains very few distractions. For me, the value of Twitter is in tapping into its social critical mass. Tags: connections social networking Twitter FaceBook some people ask. You too?
I've run across a couple of interesting posts recently that seem to have spawned from a Business Week article - Scaling the Social Web. Hasn't eBay had social networking features for a long time? all have a social networking aspect to them? Quite simply, social networking sites require a high level of commitment.
This week we looked at Social Networks. Here are some thoughts on this topic, especially thoughts around social networks for learning. Starting with Social Networking was a blessing and a curse. Social networks have a tendency to be a bit messy. How do social networks relate to formal learning?
Does your employer / Institution have a policy for the accepted use, by staff, for how they can use Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, SlideShare, YouTube, WordPress, etc)?
