Free education? I’m not referring to grants or scholarships. I’m talking about a change in the way we acquire marketable knowledge and skills. Could there really be such a thing as free education?

I’ve learned that micro-blogging services like Twitter are useful learning tools after all . Subscribe to blogs like TwiTip for Twitter tips, tools, and best practices. Tagged: learning, media, micro-blogging, social, socialmedia, socialnetwork, socialnetworking, tool, tools, twitter, web2. I am a Johnny-come-lately to the Twitter scene (Twittersphere). I thought Twitter was nothing more than instant messaging on steroids.

For anyone who is not familiar with Adobe Captivate , it is an eLearning development tool that “enables anyone to rapidly create powerful and engaging simulations, scenario-based training, and robust quizzes without programming knowledge or multimedia skills.” I didn’t get to attend the Adobe Summit or DevLearn 2008 this week in San Jose, CA, and I’m totally jealous of everyone who got a sneak peek of Adobe Captivate 4.
Thankfully, Philip Hutchison posted an excellent overview of all the new features on his pipwerks blog .

Although there will be other types of content creation tools, I see the lack of Flash support as a huge limitation for course developers.
The noise about the release of Apple’s iPad has been a bit overwhelming. Were you too busy to read the reviews, analysis and opinions? No problem.

As I mentioned in Real-Time Collaborative Editing , I had a fantastic experience participating in group editing of a Mind Map of collaborative tools during a session at Learn Trends. You can see the result below. But it was interesting to see the results exported which I've embedded below. I would expect the document to continue to grow and change, but thought it would be worth having it available in a text format as well (so I can find it when I need it).
