Diigo is my social bookmarking option. Diigo automatically generates my ID and e-Learning bookmarks posts. People are sometimes amazed at how quickly I can find resources for various topics; Diigo is what lets me put my hands on links from my library in a hurry. WordPress is my blog host.

Great Resource for Using Graphics in eLearning. As most instructional designers know, graphics used effectively can greatly increase the efficacy of a learning event. However, Connie took it a step further and introduced us to how are brains are wired for graphics and shared great advice and examples of uber-effective use of graphics.

Know your resources. To create a successful remote training program, organizations should have a good understanding of their available resources. Additionally, social media can be an excellent resource for finding information on best practices or connecting with other professionals in your field.

When he moved to consulting and didn’t have an IT department and those resources, he realized he had to do something different. Social bookmarks are an easy first step–lots of people can have a purpose for this. Social bookmarking sites are less often blocked by corporate firewalls.

They are short and wacky but effective. The topics on Social Networking and Learning 2.0 are good resources on the basics. I find the snippets from Commoncraft very illustrative of the "3-Minute e-Learning" application points. I am sure it is low budgeted as well.

Social Media included Twitter, Screenr videos, and Diigo social bookmarks. I learned that the ongoing support implemented on our Intranet pages, Screenr videos, Diigo social bookmarks, and job aids were highly valued by staff and seen as very practical and accessible resources that are continually being used.

You can find all sorts of interesting resources via eLearning Learning around Adoption. Not surprising, the terms most closely associated with Adoption are Adoption of Social Software and Adoption of Enterprise 2.0. It's all a question of finding people, resources and sites that you can learn from. Well, there is a growing range of useful social media tools you can use to track down what you need. Another way to find people who have a similar interest to you is to subscribe to a social bookmarking tool such as Diigo or Delicious.

Something like the social network operating system , maybe. These are nicely captured by this article as Tony Karrer pulls together a number of recent resources on the site to throw out some ideas. In fact, LMS, Elgg, Flickr, del.icio.us, Wikis, Blogs, Discussion Groups, Amazon, hmmm, the list gets long quickly.

FYI: There are occasions where these actually may be more effective than a course, but that is usually identified during the design phase. This does not solve the problem, but reiterates the need for a more effective development timeline and approach. However, quality can not be sacrificed for the urgency of resources.

All of these resources can be discovered by following people on social networks and reading their posts, which contain links to these resources. This is how they participate in social media and this is how they learn. Using social media, one can always go back to look up resources and conversations that you have observed.

It is inefficient, not always effective, and wasteful of developers' and learners' time to have courses on every conceivable topic. Learners pull what they need from this repository as and when they need it, and also have access to experts and peers via blogs, wikis, discussion forums and social bookmarks.

The value of del.icio.us / Yahoo MyWeb is that it first helps the individual and by helping the individual it helps the collective. Making LMS products bigger, more complex is likely the exactly wrong way to go.

What I find even more intriguing is the secondary effect of being able to track the flow of value within your organizations communication structure.
