There were about 500 attendees at the conference, which is little smaller than other user conferences we attend for similar size companies in the Learning and Talent space, but perhaps that’s not surprising giving the transformation Saba has been through in the past few years.

The question is “what is the best way to create a video based training course in Saba?” Use a player template in saba that will serve as the table of contents for the course. In Saba I do not have the ability to specify the size of a SCO window that is “popped up” from the table of contents. SAP Litmos – Last year’s top system for NexGen, still a very strong player, a leader in the space, but the others – those listed above, have more Tier-3 then Litmos. The biggest surprise to me is Saba. Again, this is in reference to the learning portion of Saba and not the entire platform of talent, etc. Saba is the unknown here, because of their previous track record.

The biggest player is Panopto who also is in the corporate space, but personally, i think VLPs didn’t innovate enough and drive forward with stronger video functionality. MediaCore was a big time player, then they got acquired by Workday. What they are thinking is that they think all LMSs are Cornerstone, Saba, SumTotal, SuccessFactors, and they are not. Let me ask you an honest question. What is your personality type? Are you a Type A? Maybe a Type B?

Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Saba. I like this system and its functionality in comparison to the other players in this space. Saba does a good job as well. Has a built-in player for 100% HTML5 courses (1st in the market) which can be launched within their system. Now, vendors do not switch their pricing structure and some components to match another, unless they see that they are legitimate players.

Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. Saba - A solid system, but IMO (in my opinion) better suited for talent/performance management. It used to be that people would mention CoD, SumTotal and Saba when they were looking at those three platforms – at least to me they would – but nowadays, I don’t hear that.
