One of my favorite sites for free stock images is Unsplash.com. They provide hundreds of free stock images with a Creative Commons Zero license. I also used one of the free images for this free template that I shared a while back. You can download the free template it here. Click to view the free template in action.

I’m working on some practice content for an upcoming workshop and decided to share the template that is part of the workshop activities. The Internet is rife with free things, especially free stock image sites. However, there are usually three main issues with the free stock image sites: The free stock images aren’t really free. The template is free for you to download and use as you wish. Below is an example of the template in action. Click here to view the template if the embedded version isn’t visible in the email. PowerPoint (no zoom). In PowerPoint, it’s a bit more challenging to create a zoom that’s easy to edit.

Many of the courses I see use bland, corporate branded templates coupled with generic stock images. You may be stuck with generic stock photos, but choose the ones that align to your course content. Free clip art was easy because in PowerPoint you could always right-click and ungroup them for easy editing. Those need to be edited in a more complex application than PowerPoint. Many of the other stock image sites charge quite a bit more for their vector images. Take your own stock photos. Create Your Own Images.

However, you can edit most free vector images that are in.EPS format using PowerPoint. Here’s a post that explains how to edit free vector images in PowerPoint and a tutorial video. Unless you’re comfortable with the illustration apps, I’d look for.EPS files first and use PowerPoint. August 4 & 5 (Seattle).
