I am attempting to embed short (10 sec) video files to a captivate 2019 project and publish it as an swf file. When viewing the swf file, the videos appear to be attempting to load (i get loader icon indications) but the video never loads. I need this video saved into the swf file, if at all possible.

SWF in Browser works as well. – Reinstall latest Firefox version. I am using the latest Adobe Captivate Version. However the “standard” preview still works fine. Previewing other projects in HTML works fine. – Uninstall Firefox and use Google Chrome. Thanks already!

Flash is the most popular output type, so it’s likely that your courses are SWF Flash-based. SWF courses do not work on certain devices; Apple devices. If your organization is running old versions of browsers then you’ll need to update them. Don’t create any more course content that is Flash SWF based.

I am using CP8 (Version 8.0.3.290) to create and publish a SCORM course. After that point, the course shows the background only and the console has an object undefined error (Tested in Chrome Version 70.0.3538.102 (Official Build) (64-bit, Edge.). I do not experience any of this in the SWF version. Any thoughts?

After I got all my images in order, I inserted each one onto its own slide in Adobe Captivate, ensuring the canvas size was exactly the same as the image dimensions (in this case, 1024 x 768). That way I didn’t have to re-do the titling and background. Step 3: Publish it.

Last year, using the same programs (slightly older versions), and processes, I published these packages as swf files, and the audio played without any issues. The audio plays in Captivate Preview, but when I upload them as SCORM files to Moodle, the audio only plays on the first slide. Is there a secret to publishing as HTML5?

This occurs in the swf version and in the slide preview on Captivate, strangely not in the HTML5 version. When the screen is clicked in the middle of the slide, the slide will advance to the last bullet animation – e.g. click at 3 seconds, all bullets appear, then slides transitions to next. What is going on here?

I first thought this to be a limitation of HTML5 (first article was for SWF output) and tested it out. It is important to know that I am using version 11.0.1.266 (CP2019), Windows version and tested in Chrome/Edge and Firefox. I have asked to update to the recent version 10.0.1.285 but didn’t have any feedback yet.

you may notice that imported Powerpoint images and SWF animations appear smaller in the Edit area and Storyboard. This issue affects authoring space appearance of several Captivate objects, like the FMR animations, text animations, any third party animations and widgets. In previous versions of Captivate, for this feature to work, Flash needs to be installed on the same machine from where you want to export. This will show a Export dialog in Captivate unlike the earlier versions which show an Import dialog inside Flash. Clicking on export will export the Captivate project to a FLA file.

If you want to publish a project to be accessible from any device, you have to ignore the still available Captivate SWF output! For such a course development Captivate offers 3 workflows: Scalable Projects : you can publish a blank (normal) project to HTML5 with the option ‘Scalable HTML Content’ activated.

After considerable testing of her instance, my instance and an instance from a 3rd user in our team I had her reload the previous version 10.0.0.192. I intern updated my version to 10.0.1.285 and am experiencing the same issue of the exported project launching and pausing on a blank screen. The problem went away.
