An LMS can do everything an LXP can do (depending on the vendor), and the combo LMS/LXP angle is a mish-mash of whatever a vendor thinks an LXP is (in reality, there are only a few that are legit combo – Juno Journey is one). A Employee Development Platform is another. Heck, I bought content through my LMS vendor in 2000.

With folks being out of the office in droves, this in turn led to, an overall slow sales cycle for a large percentage of vendors in the learning system space. Back in the mid 2000’s and then again, around 2010-12, the summer was a dead zone for vendors. When targets are missed, well, that is not good news for a vendor.

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. Could someone create a course at said company? You could say for everyone learner or just a group of learners, you could do this for every publisher that the vendor offered.
